Women Who Mean Business awards luncheon approaching
I was honored to once again lead one of my favorite Business Journal events of the year on Wednesday.
Some of this year’s Women Who Mean Business honorees gathered at Mulvaney’s B&L to meet each other prior to our upcoming awards luncheon.
We organize the reception as a starting point for bonds that ideally will last beyond next week’s ceremony. I’ve watched previous Women Who Mean Business classes connect socially for years after receiving their awards.
After the honorees got to know each other, many of our Women Who Mean Business alums joined last night’s reception.
Women Who Mean Business is truly a special program. Yes, its participants have achieved major business accomplishments. But they are also willing to discuss the challenges they’ve faced along the way. Hearing their stories has pushed me to take risks in my own career — and to know that I’m not alone in moments of self-doubt.
That’s why I encourage you to attend this year’s Women Who Mean Business awards luncheon, which will be held June 16. Registration information is available online. The deadline is Friday.

Approved project of nearly 700 home lots in El Dorado Hills on the market
Bids are being scrutinized for what’s likely to be the last large-scale master plan housing development in El Dorado Hills.
Land Advisors Organization’s local office had a Tuesday deadline to accept offers for East Ridge, a 699-home project of single-family units.
“We’re in a pretty good environment as far as the market is concerned,” said Jim Radler, a senior vice president with LAO and one of the three brokers listing the property. “The jurisdiction is pretty tough on development, so we feel like we’re the only show in town.”
Senior Reporter Ben van der Meer has details about the East Ridge housing development in El Dorado Hills.
