Amazon clothes are a lot like takeout sushi rolls: amazing when they’re good, but absolutely atrocious—and even a little sickening—when they’re bad. Finding a worthwhile piece to Prime yourself is kind of like finding a needle in a haystack, but is definitely made easier when something goes viral on social media—which recently happened with an Amazon matching set that, frankly, looked too good to be true.
A few weeks ago, a gorgeous matching set came up on my discover page, and it was perfect, from the color to the fit down to the details. It looked like a matching set that I’d assume was bought at Revolve for a few hundred dollars. But much to my shock, it was from Amazon—and was less than $30. In the name of research, I added it to my cart and waited patiently for it to arrive on my doorstep.
When I took it out of the package, it is the truth to say I literally gasped. Some way, somehow, it was even more beautiful in person than it was on social media. It was a thick, high-quality material that rivaled the pieces I’ve spent more than I’d like to admit on, and when I tried it on, fit like an absolute glove.
I opted for my usual size small, and it fit perfectly—I was relieved I didn’t opt to size up like I often do with pieces from Amazon. Since I received this set, I have reached for it literally constantly, and I cannot leave the house without getting compliments on it. I was walking down the street the other day, and from the other side of the street, a girl yelled “I love your set!” So like any sane human would, I came home and ordered it in another color.
I obviously opted for the light green option, which I don’t think would have caught my eye if I hadn’t seen it on social media first, but I’m so happy I did; it’ll be perfect for transitioning into fall when it’s still hot out, but I don’t want to wear my super summery clothes. It comes in both this shorts option and a long pants option, which I’m going to add to my cart once the temperatures cool down a little bit. (I’m already planning out which shoes I’m going to pair with it to wear to the office.) It comes in over 20 different options, which means that no matter what you’re looking for, you can find one that you’ll absolutely love.
It isn’t often that I find something that you want to wear on repeat at an absolute steal, but this set did it. If it weren’t for my fear of it selling out, I’d scream it from the rooftops. If you see me out in this (spoiler alert: you will), pretend like you don’t know I scored it for the price of takeout.
