International Day Of Elimination Of Violence Against Women
Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will observe the ‘International Day of Elimination of Violence against Women’ with a series of awareness events of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) from November 25 to December 10.
The Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor will deliver the presidential address on the inaugural day after a special address by Guest of Honour, Prof Mohammad Gulrez (Pro Vice Chancellor).
“The programme will feature important lectures and talks by Prof Mohammad Sajjad (Department of History), Prof Naima Khatoon (Principal, Women’s College), Prof Zafar Ahmad Khan (Dr Ambedkar Chair for Legal studies and Research, Department of Law) and Prof Sangeeta Singhal (ICC Member). Sensitisation workshops, street plays, poster/slogan/short film competitions, panel discussions and other awareness programmes are also scheduled in the 16 day long programme”, said Prof Seema Hakim (ICC Presiding Officer).
